In a recent poll, a third of British people said they would support local businesses for Christmas shopping this year. This heartwarming trend has inspired me to update my list of photographic gifts, tell you about a new project planned for Christmas Eve, and share with you the details of the two charities which have inspired me to give this year.

Christmas doors project

Yay the Festive Streets campaign by Playing Out St Albans District is on again during 2024.

This community project inspired me to do a Harpenden Christmas Doors project last year and if you would like a print of festive doors, please get in touch.

Special hog Christmas cards

In 2023 I created the cutest Christmas Cards (even if I say so myself) for the Hornbeamwood Hedgehog Sanctuary - if you need a card for the hedgehog lover in your life - click the button below.

Happy Christmas!

In my intro, I mentioned I have been supporting two charities this year. Our local hedgehog rescue centre and Mind - the mental health charity. Working with my brother’s ocean rowing team - Pacific Discovery - who rowed 2,800 miles across the Pacific to raise £100K for Mind has been an incredible experience. Learning more about mental health, and talking to some of the people who reached out to us, has raised my awareness of how many of us suffer from mental health challenges at times. If we don’t reach out to each other, visit the elderly, be kind to each other, the consequences can be devastating and Mind does an incredible job supporting those who find it within themselves to reach out. I want to thank the people whom I’ve spoken to on this journey, who have been so honest and open, sharing their stories to help others. You are all such an inspiration and you are making change happen with every word.

I am so grateful to all my clients and followers - your support is keeping me doing what makes me happiest. Wishing you a very festive season with lots of warmth and love and special times. You’re wonderful! I am so proud to see the story of your life journeys, your successes, on websites and on walls, told with my camera. It keeps me smiling, every day.

Thank you to the amazing people in my life!
