An architect uses my photograph
On 26th January 2022 best friends Charlotte Harris and Jessica Oliver set a new world record for the fastest female pair to row 3,000-miles across the Atlantic Ocean. The duo - Team Wild Waves - completed the crossing in 45 days, 7 hours, and 25 minutes beating the previous world record by 5 days. They also raised £100,000 for Shelter and Women's Aid.
The idea for the wall takes shape
Charlotte works for leading premium drinks company Diageo and I was contacted by her colleague Adrienn Kurtzer from their Budapest office in March. She is part of the creative team and they had come up with the idea to use the photo of Charlotte and Jessica’s arrival in English Harbour on a wall in their building. Just to be clear. Not a print on the wall. The whole wall. The creative concept looked stunning.
The objective?
To celebrate Charlotte and Jessica’s larger than life achievement - of course - but to share the energy of the incredible moment with children and their parents who use the office space, to inspire them to greater things. How special is that?
The finished Wild Waves Wall
I’m coming to visit the wall Adrienn!
I think the biggest print I’ve made for a client’s home wall was 40 inches. This is on a whole new scale and I’m in awe of how the sympathetic design has elevated the image to even greater heights. I hope to visit the Diageo offices in Hungary - it would be wonderful to see the Wild Waves Wall!
